"Edge of Civilization"

EDGE OF CIVILIZATION is a cross-cutting narrative that follows three separate, but inextricably linked, characters in the lucrative international arms trade. 
 
I want to say that the lucrative arms-trade industry (legal and illegal) is sponsored by our governments, purely for economic gain, and encourages conflicts that inevitably costs civilian lives.  There are more wars in progress today than at any other time in history.
 
I want to say that even though the arms trade is a global issue, it affects people every day, whether they be in third world countries or the United States.
 
A large cache of weapons has been bought from Russia/The Ukraine by the Ecuadorian military.  The person brokering the deal is international arms trader Markit Saghistan.  Instead of ending up in the hands of the Ecuadorian military, they get transhipped to the Marxist FARC guerrillas of Colombia.  They are approached by the retired general in charge of a Southern US paramilitary outfit intent on seceding from the United States government.
 
It also needs to be about how a single handgun can destroy a family.
 
This script will delve into the shady world of international arms trading.  It will follow three  major story threads that cross paths as the plot twists and turns through Africa, Russia, South America and the United States.

"Utterson: The Untold Story of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde" (gothic horror)

Gabrielle Utterson is a respected lawyer drawn into a horrific murder investigation where he must play a dangerous cat-and-mouse game with his new client, the enigmatic Dr Henry Jekyll. After his young niece is brutally murdered in the shire of Blackwood Moor, Utterson quickly becomes frustrated with the lacklustre police investigation.  He feels compelled to turn amateur sleuth and takes up his own search for evidence.  As a series of vicious slayings envelop the city, he discovers Jekyll may be involved, and possibly concealing chief suspect Edward Hyde. The infamous gothic horror novela 'The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde' by Robert Louis Stevenson has been filmed many times, but never as originally written, from the perspective of main character Gabrielle Utterson.
