Nick is a traveler and writer who loves visiting places off the beaten track. Most at home on a mountain with his backpack or exploring an archaeological site at sunset, his wanderlust has taken him to some of the most remote places on our planet.

From sailing through the Galapagos Islands, trekking solo in Patagonia, camping surrounded by elephants in Kenya, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, swimming with whale sharks off the coast of Mozambique, visiting the endangered mountain gorillas of Uganda, and negotiating safe passage with rebels in Ethiopia, Nick feels most alive in the middle of a foreign country where he doesn't speak the language.

An advocate of slow travel to better understand a place and its people, he has lived in dozens of countries, including Australia, the USA, Singapore, Thailand, Mexico, Peru and Kenya. Through writing, he enjoys taking readers on a journey of discovery so they can appreciate our incredible planet and its fascinating inhabitants.

His first novel, THIS BOOK BELONGS TO, was a bestseller that topped the Amazon charts in Travel Writing, Adventure Travel, and Inspirational Romance. The characters and themes resonated with readers who wanted to go on an adventure outside of their comfort zone through the beauty of South America.

His second novel, WITHOUT A MAP, will be released in January 2025. It follows a travel blogger who wins a competition to join a luxury travel writer on a trip to Holi, the festival of love. Conflict emerges and opposites attract in the colorful festivities of India, Sri Lanka, Dubai and the Philippines, with hilarious results.

Asides from travel writing, Nick has had a long involvement in the film industry. He directed the romantic comedy RADIO SAMURAI, produced the action thriller RAZOR EATERS, and wrote the crime drama MODEL BEHAVIOUR. His films have premiered at opening nights of film festivals and won awards across the globe. He has also developed scripts with Concept Entertainment, was a semi-finalist in the American Screenwriting Competition and runner-up at the Shriekfest Los Angeles Festival.

Nick's formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in English & History and a Master of Teaching, both from the University of Melbourne. He has taught English, Linguistics, History and Politics in Australia and overseas.

His
writing philosophy is based around creating engaging characters and placing them in unfamiliar environments through which our shared human condition can be explored. Large doses of emotion and humour are essential!
